assess.ged Changes

• Fixed a bug introduced in v1.04.06 where the date tests included an invalid leading sequence number and there were other structural issues in the file
• Fixed a bug where several RESN tests were using the value "private" when the correct keyword is "privacy"
• Added the Age test area
• Expanded the Event Dictionary test area to include family events
• Added the Relationship test area
• Added the Restriction test area
• Changed tests in the Continuation, Master Place and Place areas to use a BIRT event to improve test coverage in special-purpose applications that do not support CENS or WILL events
• Corrected an issue where TIME values in a test in the Change Date area specified thousandths of a second when the GEDCOM 5.5.1 specification supports hundredths only
• Added a test in the Change Date area to assess TIME values without seconds
• Added a test in the Change Date area to assess CHAN.NOTE record handling

assess.ged Changes

• Merged several tests that required two INDI records so that both INDI records are contained in a single test

  Merging the tests avoids using two tests to assess one capability. This change affects the following tests:

  • 01-Principal _SHAR ROLE and 01-Witness _SHAR ROLE
  • 02-Principal _WITN TYPE and 02-Witness _WITN TYPE
  • 03-Principal _ASSO RELA and 03-Witness _ASSO RELA
  • 01-Alias Principal and 01-Alias Target
  • 04-Associate1 and 04-Associate2
  • 01-Same-Sex Partner 1 and 01-Same-Sex Partner 2
• Changed the SEX record from "M" to "F" for the BASM (Bat Mitzvah) test in the Event Dictionary area

• Changed the ALIA tests to use four tests to simplify assigning a test result; see the Link area

• Corrected NAME records for the "@" tests to use double "@"

Other Changes

• Updated the help pages to correct broken links and provide both "download" and "view" links for assess.ged

  The download links for assess.ged do not work in Internet Explorer 11 because the HTML5 download attribute is not supported in Internet Explorer 11. You can right-click either link and choose "Save target as" to download the file. I plan to add a ZIP file version of assess.ged to the site in a future version. In the meantime, use a better browser.
