This page describes a set of tests included in version 1.05 of the GEDCOM file assess.ged (download - view). Details change between versions.
Area Summary
Each person with the surname "Event Dictionary" has one of the GEDCOM 5.5.1 family event or individual event records. The events include a DATE subrecord because GEDCOM requires a DATE or PLAC subrecord to create a valid event.
If the target application does not support one of the GEDCOM event types in your data, you will have to use a different one. Switching to the generic EVEN event is a good alternative as most target applications will support it.
