This page describes a set of tests included in version 1.05 of the GEDCOM file assess.ged (download - view). Details change between versions.

Area Summary

Each person with the surname "Attribute Dictionary" has one of the GEDCOM 5.5.1 individual attribute records.

While most target applications will have no trouble with these attributes, some may have support for some individual attributes records, but not all.

If a target application does not support one of the GEDCOM attribute types in your data, you will have to use a different one. Switching to the generic FACT attribute is one alternative, but some target applications do not support it.
