This page describes a set of tests included in version 1.05 of the GEDCOM file assess.ged (download - view). Details change between versions.

Area Summary

Each person with the surname "Age" includes an AGE record, or for two-person family events, one for each member of the couple.

01-Family Event (YYy)

This test includes a MARR event for 01-Family Event Husband and 01-Family Event Wife and includes AGE subrecords to indicate their ages at the time of their marriage, "22y" and "21y", respectively.

Test Result Criteria

  1. If a target application imports the AGE values and displays them for the proper member of the couple, set the test result to "Supported".
  2. If a target application rejects the AGE record(s) with a message in its import log, set the test result to "Rejected".
  3. If a target application ignores the AGE record(s) and does not issue an error message, set the test result to "Ignored".
  4. For any other outcome, set the test result to "Imported Incorrectly" and describe the outcome in the comment.

02-Individual Attribute (YYy)

This test includes a EDUC record with an AGE subrecord with the value "28y".

The AGE record indicates the age the principal was at the time of the event.

Test Result Criteria

  1. If a target application imports the AGE value and displays it with the parent record, set the test result to "Supported".
